Ten years after their formation, Turpentine Valley sounds darker, more mature, and more determined than ever. On their third album “Veuel,” released this year, the trio effortlessly moves between heavy, massive passages and immersive, melancholic sections. Their instrumental post-metal leaves room for interpretation, inviting listeners to discover their own narrative within it. Following “Etch” (2019) — three tracks of which were featured in the soundtrack of the Netflix series De Twaalf — and “Alder” (2022), “Veuel” once again pushes the boundaries of the genre. It does so with intensity, depth, and without compromise.
