Today, the winners of the Grachtenfestival Jazz Competition 2024, the Giedra-Valente Quintet, will be performing the lunchtime concert! Inspired by legendary groups like the Miles Davis Quintet, Art Blakey and The Jazz Messengers, and the Wayne Shorter Quintet, the Giedra-Valente Quintet presents original music that honors the tradition of Hard Bop while exploring new directions. With striking melodies and enchanting solos, this quintet brings together three nationalities (Spain, Lithuania, Portugal) and reflects a strong, lasting friendship.

Since we believe that emerging talent deserves a stage, our lunchtime concerts feature (recently graduated) students, competition winners, and other promising talents.
