Snarky Puppy

The multi-award-winning collective Snarky Puppy is not easily pigeonholed into a single musical genre. Their music spans funk, rhythm & blues, hard rock, classic soul, modern gospel, new technology, fusion and jazz. Yet Snarky Puppy is not strictly a jazz or fusion band, but is constantly evolving. It is probably best to follow the advice of Nate Chinen of the New York Times: ‘take them for what they are, rather than judge them for what they’re not.’ Their collaboration with the Metropole Orkest resulted in the Grammy-winning album ‘Sylva’. Ten years after this first joint project, the two came together again in January 2025. This renewed collaboration led to ‘Somni’, which was released in November 2025. Each new album brings a fresh direction, which invariably raises the question: where will Snarky Puppy go next?
