Especially for the fourth edition of BRIDGE Guitar Festival Eindhoven, Al Di Meola will come to Muziekgebouw Eindhoven for an exclusive concert with the Metropole Orkest. Al Di Meola achieved international recognition in the 1970s as a member of the jazz-fusion group Return to Forever, led by Chick Corea, and has since been regarded as one of the most influential guitarists of recent decades. Di Meola is known for both electric and acoustic guitar; while he became particularly prominent through his acoustic collaborations, he never completely stopped playing electric guitar. In the early 1980s, he shifted his focus to acoustic guitar and formed a legendary supertrio with John McLaughlin and Paco de Lucía. Their album “Friday Night in San Francisco” (1981) is widely regarded as the most influential acoustic guitar album ever.

Di Meola has also enjoyed major success as a solo artist, with millions of albums sold and countless performances worldwide. His work moves between jazz, rock, fusion, and Latin music, and is known for its complex rhythms and strong compositions. After three successful BRIDGE collaborations with Dweezil Zappa, Steve Vai, and Mark Lettieri, we are getting ready for a unique evening where Di Meola’s virtuosity will be enhanced by the unparalleled sound of the Metropole Orchestra conducted by Vince Mendoza.
