Australian-Taiwanese pianist and composer Belle Chen is difficult to categorize musically. She does not specialize in one genre, but instead presents a unique blend of classical, avant-garde, world music, jazz, electronic, and sound art in her work. She plays the piano with feeling and virtuosity, adding fresh and playful sounds from synthesizers, electric pianos, and field recordings. Inspired by nature and the city, she creates performances that are colorful, surprising, and full of warmth and imagination. In this concert, she will play music from her latest album, “Ravel In The Forest,” together with brand-new compositions.
