In a world that keeps accelerating, TROMP Percussion invites you to slow down. DAUW is a new series of meditation concerts in which sound, breath, and attention come together. This edition features Warm Tone, a solo marimba concert by percussionist Yi-Fan Du, in which the instrument’s warm sound and shimmering resonance come fully into focus. Soft tones from gongs and singing bowls merge with the marimba, creating a rich palette of colours and open, spacious soundscapes. Halfway through, a calm improvisation introduces a meditative atmosphere, after which the music unfolds in relaxed rhythms into a serene and attentive listening experience.

About Yi-Fan Du

Yi-Fan Du (1999) is a versatile and adventurous percussionist. She studied at the Conservatorium of Amsterdam and won first prize at the PSMopole International Marimba Competition in 2021. As a soloist and chamber musician, she collaborates with composers and ensembles and has performed with, among others, the National Youth Orchestra. With her warm, refined, and attentive sound world, she continues to explore new musical possibilities.

About DAUW

In these meditation concerts, each event begins with a short guided meditation led by Zen teacher Anne Peters. From this moment of stillness, a live concert unfolds, marked by deep resonance, subtle energy, and rhythmic mastery. Performed by a percussionist of TROMP Percussion, the concert offers a sound experience that is both meditative and musically engaging. From singing bowls to marimba, from gongs to vibraphone, the sounds settle over the space like dew, inviting stillness and a renewed way of listening. No experience with meditation or music is required; everyone is welcome. After the concert, there is time to meet, share experiences, talk, or simply remain together in silence for a while.
