The Dutch Student Chamber Orchestra (Nesko) is reassembled every year with around 45 ambitious students who, alongside their studies, perform music at a high level. In April, they embark on a tour across the Netherlands, dedicating two weeks to exploring the chamber music repertoire. This year’s tour is themed ‘Nesko Paints in Sound’, a musical journey in which Nesko brings tones to life like brushstrokes on a canvas. The concert opens with Beethoven’s lyrical Violin Concerto in D, where soloist SongHa, with her warm and virtuosic playing, brings out the piece’s refined melodies and emotions. This is followed by a contemporary composition by Thomas van Dun, written especially for Nesko, blending modern and traditional sounds. The evening concludes with Tchaikovsky’s First Suite, a vibrant work full of colorful, expressive soundscapes that immerse the audience in a world of musical paintings.

Program

L. van Beethoven – Violin Concerto in D Major

For the Love of Music

Community life is an important socio-cultural engine of our society. There is little else that connects people as much. The association is undoubtedly one of the most effective means against division in society. Both associations and enthusiasts, as well as independent practitioners of amateur art, can turn to Muziekgebouw Eindhoven. With the project “For the Love of Music,” we are pleased to make our venues available to everyone who loves music: creators, artists, and musicians from Eindhoven and the surrounding region.
