For this lunchtime concert, we welcome three exceptional singers, each with their own unique style and story. Dutch mezzo-soprano Suzanne Charité, currently a Master’s student at the Tilburg Conservatoire, opens the programme. Her repertoire brings the sounds of Italy and the timeless theme of love to life. Next, Ira Girlea, a fourth-year classical singer at the Fontys Conservatoire and originally from Moldova, takes the audience on an intimate, emotional journey centred on moments of reflection, loss and quiet inner transformation. Finally, Zirui Chen, a second-year Master’s student in Classical Singing at the Fontys Academy of Music and Performing Arts, will perform. She moves with refinement between art song and opera, with a particular interest in the expressive worlds of the German lied, the French mélodie and Italian opera. Together, these three singers promise a varied and moving concert that will transform the lunch break into a musical respite.

A lunchtime concert is, of course, not complete without a delicious lunch. After the concert, enjoy a flavorful homemade soup and freshly baked bread in the Stadsfoyer. You can add this directly to your ticket!

Lunchtime concerts
Our lunchtime concerts are a delight to experience: both literally and figuratively! Taking a break in the middle of the day to relax for an hour with a nice concert in the Small Hall really makes the day feel refreshing. From piano recitals to chamber music and brass ensembles, the offerings are varied and innovative. Since we believe that emerging talent deserves a platform, our lunchtime concerts feature (recently graduated) students, competition winners, and other promising gems.
