Guitarist Glenn de Roo pays tribute to Andrés Segovia, the Spanish pioneer who, in the 20th century, gave the classical guitar its permanent place on the concert stage. Segovia inspired composers to write specifically for the guitar and created arrangements that often became even more popular than the originals. Glenn de Roo studied classical guitar at the Brabants Conservatory and the Conservatori de les Illes Balears in Palma de Mallorca. In addition to solo concerts, he runs a private teaching practice in Veldhoven, performs as a soloist with orchestras and ensembles, and collaborates with healthcare institutions, where he presents this music.

Lunchtime concerts
Our lunchtime concerts are a delight to experience: both literally and figuratively! Taking a break in the middle of the day to relax for an hour with a nice concert in the Small Hall really makes the day feel refreshing. From piano recitals to chamber music and brass ensembles, the offerings are varied and innovative. Since we believe that emerging talent deserves a platform, our lunchtime concerts feature (recently graduated) students, competition winners, and other promising gems.
