National Musical Instruments Foundation
Hawijch plays a violin by Gennaro Gagliano (Naples, c. 1755) and a bow by Dominique Pecatte (Paris, 19th century). The violin is part of the “Willem G. Vogelaar Collection” and the bow of the “Tettelaar Collection,” both on loan from the National Musical Instruments Fund. This fund supports 400 musicians with inspiring instruments and holds one of the largest musical instrument collections in Europe: more than 500 instruments and 250 bows. The collection includes masterpieces from the history of Dutch violin making and continues to grow thanks to donations, gifts, and legacies. The fund also supports Dutch instrument making through new commissions. In this way, it plays an essential role in fostering musical talent and preserving cultural heritage.
