Violinist Isabelle van Keulen has been a passionate tango enthusiast from an early age. In 2011, the classical violinist took a bold step and founded the Isabelle van Keulen Ensemble with a group of like-minded musicians. This quartet is dedicated to the Argentine Tango Nuevo of Astor Piazzolla. In this electrifying program, they build an inventive bridge from Buenos Aires to Bach’s German Dresden. And Bach on the bandoneon? It turns out to be a perfect match. Prepare to be swept away into ecstasy and touched to the core of your soul by both pure tango and the violin music of Johann Sebastian Bach.

Isabelle van Keulen (also known as a jury member on the TV show Maestro) is one of the few violin soloists you can also call to perform a viola concerto. The ensemble bearing her name is widely praised for its musical depth, brilliant and expressive interplay, and sheer joy of performance—a mix of melancholy, intimacy, and intensity.

Together with award-winning bandoneonist Christian Gerber, pianist Ulrike Payer—who once performed with the legendary bandoneonist Alfredo Marcucci—and her husband, double bassist Rüdiger Ludwig, Isabelle van Keulen brings the stars of the Argentine sky to life. With Bach and all-time favorites like Adiós Nonino and Libertango, this will be an unforgettable experience.
