Jimmy Nelson
Through the Human Lens
- Pop
- Multidisciplinair
- Spreker
British-Dutch photographer Jimmy Nelson has been traveling the world for over thirty years. Not to capture people as works of art, but to meet them and truly see them. He is best known for his photos in National Geographic, about his journey through Tibet on foot, for his books Before They Pass Away and Homage to Humanity, and for the successful Fabrique des Lumières exhibition: The Last Sentinels. In his very first theater production, Through the Human Lens, he steps away from the camera and takes the audience into the stories, insights, and intimate moments that have shaped his work.
Photographer Jimmy Nelson was born in England and spent his childhood in Africa, Asia, and South America, together with his father, a geologist. At the age of seventeen, he took a camera with him on his journey through Tibet, and his passion for photography was born. He has now lived in the Netherlands for some time. Tonight, you are invited to pause together and reconnect. He will guide you through his world, and there will be an opportunity to ask questions.
