Mendula makes the saxophone and piano shine with color and energy. Saxophonist Karlo Žamić and pianist Benjamin Goldenbeld combine their love for classical music with a drive to push boundaries. Their playing is fresh, playful, and full of stories, blending rich harmonies with rhythmic brilliance. In 2025, Mendula won both the jury and audience prizes at the Nico Vis Chamber Music Contest, a recognition of their creative force. Their programs span from classical to jazz influences, always with the same goal: to make music sparkle and share it with their audience.
After the concert
A lunchtime concert is, of course, not complete without a delicious lunch. After the concert, enjoy a flavorful homemade soup and freshly baked bread in the Stadsfoyer. You can add this directly to your ticket!
Lunchtime concerts
Our lunchtime concerts are a delight to experience: both literally and figuratively! Taking a break in the middle of the day to relax for an hour with a nice concert in the Small Hall really makes the day feel refreshing. From piano recitals to chamber music and brass ensembles, the offerings are varied and innovative. Since we believe that emerging talent deserves a platform, our lunchtime concerts feature (recently graduated) students, competition winners, and other promising gems.
