In an exploration of 20th-century mastery, cellist Mikayel Voskanyan and pianist Rebecca You present three leading works from the cello repertoire. Voskanyan, praised for his outstanding technique and great intensity (Gustav Rivinius), joins forces with London-based pianist Rebecca You for a vivid and emotionally charged program. The recital opens with the hushed, moonlit sound world of Debussy’s Cello Sonata, followed by the raw and penetrating energy of Alfred Schnittke’s modern masterpiece. The concert concludes with Prokofiev’s beloved Cello Sonata in C major, celebrated for its noble themes, lyrical warmth, and expressive power.

A lunchtime concert is, of course, not complete without a delicious lunch. After the concert, enjoy a flavorful homemade soup and freshly baked bread in the Stadsfoyer. You can add this directly to your ticket!

Our lunchtime concerts are a delight to experience: both literally and figuratively! Taking a break in the middle of the day to relax for an hour with a nice concert in the Small Hall really makes the day feel refreshing. From piano recitals to chamber music and brass ensembles, the offerings are varied and innovative. Since we believe that emerging talent deserves a platform, our lunchtime concerts feature (recently graduated) students, competition winners, and other promising gems.
