The Utrecht trio .multibeat, consisting of Thijs van Zutphen (bass), Aron Smit (drums), and Boudewijn Pleij (keys), seamlessly blends beats, R&B, and jazz. Their modern hip-hop sounds are enriched with jazz and R&B influences, and sometimes even disco or house. They draw inspiration from artists like Robert Glasper and Anderson .Paak. In April, they released their new album “channel island,” a tribute to the Utrecht neighborhood Kanaleneiland. In addition to tracks from this album, they will bring creative covers, improvisations, and the synthesizer to Blue Note ClubSessions this afternoon. As special guests for this show, the gentlemen are bringing GINGE and Thierry Ganz on vocals, and Davy Lourenberg on guitar.
Schedule
The doors of M open at 4:00 PM, giving you the chance to enjoy a drink and a jazz DJ. The concert starts at 5:00 PM and lasts until 6:15 PM. To wrap things up nicely, the jazz DJ will play until 7:00 PM.
