When Bryce Dessner’s latest Piano Concerto is performed by star pianist Alice Sara Ott, something truly special is set to happen. Dessner, an American composer based in Paris, has won Gramophone awards both for his “classical” compositions and as a guitarist with his rock band The National. Philzuid co-commissioned this Piano Concerto, written especially for Alice Sara Ott (“dazzling, unstoppable,” The Guardian).
In addition to this unique Dutch premiere, experience Joey Roukens’ enchanting tribute to the centuries-old Renaissance music of Sweelinck and the romantic, symphonic richness of Ottorino Respighi’s Italy. In his *Fontane di Roma* and *Feste Romane*, the Italian master composer vividly paints sparkling fountains, dark scenes in Nero’s Circus Maximus, and sun-drenched harvest festivals of ancient Rome.
