The Schwartz–Kerloc’h Duo is a young and energetic violin and piano ensemble. The duo was formed during the master’s studies of French-Spanish pianist Eve Kerloc’h and Hungarian-Dutch violinist Zoltán Schwartz at the Maastricht Conservatorium, where their strong artistic connection quickly became evident. Their performances are characterised by refined musicianship and an adventurous choice of repertoire. Eve Kerloc’h studied in Madrid and Maastricht and is active as a pianist and vocal coach at international festivals and projects. Zoltán Schwartz is a laureate of several international competitions and has performed in concert halls across Europe and Canada, known for his warm tone and strong stage presence.

The duo presents a narrative and poetic programme full of atmosphere and contrast. The music leads the listener through mysterious, romantic and folkloric worlds: from Saint-Saëns’ Danse macabre and the fairy-tale sounds of Scheherazade to the warm romanticism of Tchaikovsky, the folk-inspired power of Rachmaninov, and the intense spirituality of Bloch’s Nigun.

After the concert

A lunchtime concert is, of course, not complete without a delicious lunch. After the concert, enjoy a flavorful homemade soup and freshly baked bread in the Stadsfoyer. You can add this directly to your ticket!

Rimski-Korsakov – Scheherazade (selectie, arr. Fritz Kreisler – voor viool & piano)
Rachmaninov – Morceaux de salon: No.2
Tsjaikovski – Souvenir d’un lieu cher: I
Bloch – Baal Shem: II

Lunchtime concerts

Our lunchtime concerts are a delight to experience: both literally and figuratively! Taking a break in the middle of the day to relax for an hour with a nice concert in the Small Hall really makes the day feel refreshing. From piano recitals to chamber music and brass ensembles, the offerings are varied and innovative. Since we believe that emerging talent deserves a platform, our lunchtime concerts feature (recently graduated) students, competition winners, and other promising gems.
