Traditionally, So What’s Next Around Town will take place in the center of Eindhoven on Sunday, November 3rd, featuring numerous performances by young and fresh emerging bands from the broad spectrum of jazz. Across various stages in the city, you can see and hear where jazz is heading in the coming years, with plenty to discover. This year, the bands will once again compete for the coveted Rabo So Who’s Next Talent Award. Performances by Leonardo Franceschini Project, Van Noten Quartet, and Westheaven will take place at M.
About the Talents
Guitarist, composer, and arranger Leonardo Franceschini from the Leonardo Franceschini Project blends impressionistic textures, creating rich and atmospheric soundscapes. His sextet, consisting of guitar, double bass, drums, and three vocalists, invites you on an introspective journey, where refined melodies and harmonic layers evoke both serenity and depth.
The modern jazz quartet, Van Noten Quartet, consists of double bassist Sulav Maharzan, pianist Gabo Vos, saxophonist Edu Doreste, and drummer Joppe Van Noten. The band plays a mix of their own compositions along with works by other members, exploring a bold and adventurous musical landscape with a strong focus on improvisation.
From RnB Neosoul to Modern Jazz and back again, Westheaven takes you on a journey filled with tasteful grooves and uplifting vibes. Pianist Masay Elsink, guitarist Noam Walle, bassist Akos Nemeth, and drummer Joppe Van Noten are accompanied by jazz vocalist Jaïnda Buiter.
