After his breakthrough in the 1990s as bassist for dEUS, Stef Kamil Carlens quickly established himself as a distinctive voice in the Belgian music scene. He founded Moondog Jr. (later Zita Swoon) and was also active in Kiss My Jazz, before developing into a solo artist and a true multi-instrumentalist. Nel Ponsaers and Rahmat Emonds, together known as The Poem, are vocalists in THE SWOON, Carlens’ backing band. Last year, the trio released the album ‘Stef Kamil Carlens & The Poem’, where the boundaries between poetry, literature, and music begin to blur. For this project and tour, they wrote new material, reworked songs from Carlens’ repertoire, and offered their own interpretations of songs by other singer-songwriters.
