Immerse yourself in the world of Romantic chamber music. In Sergei Rachmaninoff’s early Trio Elégiaque, a deeply melancholic sonic universe unfolds, characterized by sweeping melodic lines and an intense emotional charge. The program also features three songs by Clara Schumann, in which warm lyricism and a subtly crafted piano part come together, revealing her delicate sense of text and expression. The concert concludes with Frédéric Chopin’s Sonata for Cello and Piano, one of his final compositions. In this expansive and deeply felt sonata, the cello and piano engage in an equal and compelling musical dialogue, in which dramatic tension, lyrical beauty, and virtuosic flair alternate.

A lunchtime concert is, of course, not complete without a delicious lunch. After the concert, enjoy a flavorful homemade soup and freshly baked bread in the Stadsfoyer. You can add this directly to your ticket!

Our lunchtime concerts are a delight to experience: both literally and figuratively! Taking a break in the middle of the day to relax for an hour with a nice concert in the Small Hall really makes the day feel refreshing. From piano recitals to chamber music and brass ensembles, the offerings are varied and innovative. Since we believe that emerging talent deserves a platform, our lunchtime concerts feature (recently graduated) students, competition winners, and other promising gems.
