Studentproof Swing Sessions

Jazz in its purest form: that’s what the free Studentproof Swing Sessions are all about! Jazz players from Studentproof Jazz kick off the evening with an open rehearsal, guided by conservatory lecturer and musician Marc van Rooij, giving you the chance to witness how the piece takes shape leading up to the official performance. The evening concludes with an open jam session. So, be sure to bring your instrument and make music with fellow musicians!

This series is a collaboration with ESMG Studentproof Jazz.

About ESMG Studentproof Jazz
Studentproof Jazz is rightly known as Eindhoven’s most swinging student association, dedicated to lovers of jazz, funk, groove, and swing. The association features a full-fledged big band as well as various smaller combos and bands. Studentproof Jazz encourages students to develop their musical skills, but most importantly, they do so alongside others who share the same passion. Together with Muziekgebouw Eindhoven, the bi-monthly Studentproof Swing Sessions have now been created.

About Marc van Rooij
Marc van Rooij teaches at the conservatoires of Tilburg and The Hague. He graduated in both jazz and classical music and has since collaborated with artists and ensembles such as Rob van Bavel, Dee Daniels, Amsterdam Sinfonietta, Philzuid, Toon Hermans, and Robert Long. Van Rooij is also an active advocate for the double bass, particularly among children.
