Jazz in its purest form: that’s what the free Studentproof Swing Sessions are all about! Jazz players from Studentproof Jazz kick off the evening with an open rehearsal, guided by a guest artist that will be announced soon, giving you the chance to witness how the piece takes shape leading up to the official performance. The evening concludes with an open jam session. So, be sure to bring your instrument and make music with fellow musicians!

About ESMG Studentproof Jazz
Studentproof Jazz is rightly known as Eindhoven’s most swinging student association, dedicated to lovers of jazz, funk, groove, and swing. The association features a full-fledged big band as well as various smaller combos and bands. Studentproof Jazz encourages students to develop their musical skills, but most importantly, they do so alongside others who share the same passion. Together with Muziekgebouw Eindhoven, the bi-monthly Studentproof Swing Sessions have now been created.
Loek van den Berg
Guest artist
Rotterdam-based saxophonist and composer Loek van den Berg (1996) is known for his accessible and lyrical playing style. He graduated from the Codarts conservatory in 2019, immediately winning the Erasmus Jazz Prize. With his ‘Loek van den Berg Quintet’, he tours internationally and composes narrative, melancholic jazz. His album “Wayfarer” (2022) significantly accelerated his career: the title track won the Dutch Jazz Competition, Dutch newspaper NRC named him a ‘rising star’ (2023), and the album itself won an Edison Jazz award (2023) in the ‘Newcomer’ category.
