Tanita Tikaram broke through in 1988 with the melancholic and timeless song ‘Twist in My Sobriety’. The track appeared on her successful debut album Ancient Heart, which spent over a year on the Dutch charts. Born to Bornean and Fijian parents, the singer grew up in England, where she began writing at a young age. Her deep voice, understated style, and literary sensibility immediately set her apart. Influenced by artists like Van Morrison and Leonard Cohen, Tikaram has crafted a personal, layered, and enduring body of work. Her new album LIAR (Love Isn’t A Right) releases in October, features fresh songs written with the perspective and calm of a seasoned storyteller.

With over 750,000 visitors attending during this week, the city center of Eindhoven will be extra busy. In addition, there are currently many roadworks taking place in the city center. We therefore recommend using an up-to-date route planner when planning your trip and allowing extra travel time to reach MgE.

Our advice
If possible, we advise you not to travel by car to the concert. Muziekgebouw Eindhoven is within walking distance of Eindhoven Central Station, and trains continue to run after the concert. Alternatively, you can come by bike and park it for free in the bicycle parking facility at 18 Septemberplein. See all bicycle parking locations and opening hours here.

Would you still prefer to come by car? We recommend parking in one of the Q-Park garages or at a Park & Ride (P+R) location and continuing your journey by public transport. Check out the recommended transport and parking options here.
