After great success in Turkey and Europe, the Turkish theatre production TOZ is now coming to Eindhoven. The play is written by Murat Mahmutyazıcıoğlu, directed by Hira Tekindor, and starring none other than Zerrin Tekindor! This play takes the audience on a journey of discovery and inner struggle, and is full of symbolism and cultural references to society and its challenges. Let go of everything around you, sink deeply into your seat, and be swept away.
TOZ tells the moving story of the young woman Handan, the only daughter of a beautiful housewife and a dutiful lawyer. A young woman coming of age and finding her own way, in a period when the streets are as turbulent as the house where she lives with her parents. When we meet Handan as an adult who appears before us, she is deeply immersed in a story that stretches from her childhood to the present. The story of Handan and her mother Feri, as Handan remembers it, is part of a narrative that runs from the 1960s to the present.
