Workshop Day with Marco Toro

From clinic to workshop to street parade. Spend a full day learning, playing and performing with Venezuelan drummer, percussionist and composer Marco Toro. With roots in Venezuelan music and culture, Marco moves effortlessly between Afro-Venezuelan rhythms, jazz, rock and Latin music. During an inspiring clinic at CKE, he shares his musical approach and demonstrates his playing. You will then get behind the drums yourself, explore his rhythms and work with the group towards a shared performance. The programme also includes a relaxed lunch with Marco and the other participants.

In the afternoon, you will take to the streets with La Maquina, a percussion group that combines music and sign language in a unique way. Together, you will bring what you learned that morning to the official opening parade of TROMP Percussion through Eindhoven.

Whether you play in a percussion group, study music or simply love drumming, everyone with enthusiasm is welcome.
