Inspiring & motivating
Muziekgebouw Eindhoven considers cultural education for children and young people to be important. Through various projects, we contribute to the musical development of our youngest visitors. To achieve this, we collaborate with primary schools in the city and with various organisations that specialise in inspiring and motivating children to engage with music themselves.
Unforgettable Class
In 2024 and 2025, Muziekgebouw Eindhoven will welcome a total of 2,500 primary school pupils from Eindhoven. In partnership with ASML, we are organising a day for these children to be immersed in music through motivating and inspiring workshops and masterclasses. These sessions will be led by professional musicians who are eager to guide young musicians and show them the endless possibilities of music. It will be an unforgettable morning where the children will also have the chance to showcase what they’ve learned to each other!
Drawing for Freedom
What does freedom mean to you? This question is central to the “Drawing for Freedom” event, designed for primary school pupils from Eindhoven’s underprivileged neighbourhoods. The event consists of three parts. First, the children receive a lesson from War Child, where this question is explored. Inspired by the lesson, they create drawings that reflect the theme of freedom. These drawings are then animated and showcased as a film in the Hertog Jan Hall at Muziekgebouw Eindhoven, accompanied by live music! For this project, we collaborate with Liberation040.
Jong Cultuur
In September 2024, a new free cultural programme for young people was launched: Jong Cultuur. Six times a year, various cultural institutions from the city collaborate to create a diverse cultural programme for 14 to 27-year-olds. For this initiative, Muziekgebouw Eindhoven, in partnership with Pitstop, Switch, RaRa Radio, and Denvis, organises the programme “Work It! @ M,” which offers inspiring workshops on topics such as songwriting, studio and stage techniques, and band coaching.
