For club life, out of love for music

In addition to professional artists and ensembles, Muziekgebouw Eindhoven also provides a stage for the rich community music scene in our region. Under the banner For the Love of Music, associations and individual musicians get the chance to perform at Muziekgebouw Eindhoven, on stages where greats like Bob Dylan, Robert Plant, and master pianist Maria João Pires have performed before. This way, these passionate musicians, who haven't turned making music into their profession, get the stage they deserve.

Every season, dozens of associations and individual musicians organize activities here, with the support of the facilities and expertise that Muziekgebouw Eindhoven offers. The Philips Symphony Orchestra is one of the associations frequently found in the concert halls. In 2025, they even performed for the hundredth time in the large Hertog Jan Hall.

Ronald Ligthart, board member for Artistic Affairs of the orchestra: ‘Club life plays a valuable role for many people: it gives them a sense of connection, support, and a place to share passions together.’ He also sees it as an eye-opener for people who make music themselves: ‘Associations show that “amateurs” can play at a surprisingly high level. It just shows what’s possible if you love making music.’

Performing at Muziekgebouw Eindhoven is a great opportunity to share that passion with a large audience. For many clubs, a concert in a professional concert hall is a special moment in their musical journey. It gives musicians the chance to gain experience and enjoy the atmosphere that comes with a real concert. After all, music is not just for listening to, but mainly for experiencing together.
