
Jack Pisters appointed as General Director of Muziekgebouw Eindhoven
Jack Pisters has an extensive track record within the Dutch and international music sector. After completing his degree in Guitar Performance at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague, he built a versatile career as a musician, cultural entrepreneur and innovator in music education. He performed internationally for many years as a guitarist and contributed to numerous albums, soundtracks and productions.
Career
Pisters is the founder of the successful Pop Department at the Conservatorium of Amsterdam and co-founder of the Amsterdam Electronic Music Academy (AEMA). He also played a key role in establishing a master’s programme, several preparatory courses and the conservatoire’s business curriculum.
In addition, he is Artistic Director of the Amsterdam Guitar Heaven Festival, a closely involved partner in the development of Muziekgebouw Eindhoven’s BRIDGE Guitar Festival, and Chairman of the EEGA Foundation, which organises the Sena European Guitar Awards. In these roles, he brings international top musicians together with audiences and emerging talent.
Recent jobs
In recent years, Pisters has served as interim manager at Popronde during a transitional phase and as interim director at Popspot during the director’s maternity leave. In 2024, he received the IJzeren Podiumdier Lifetime Achievement Award from the Association of Dutch Music Venues and Festivals (VNPF) for his innovative and influential contribution to talent development and pop music education in the Netherlands.
