Metropole Orchestra to become orchestra-in-residence at Muziekgebouw Eindhoven from 2026

From 2026 onwards, the Metropole Orkest will become the orchestra-in-residence at Muziekgebouw Eindhoven. On Friday 27 June, both organisations signed a plan to collaborate more closely. This marks a unique opportunity to bring together music, technology, and social impact in a sustainable, strategic partnership that will give rise to a range of community-focused projects.

The plan was signed by Edo Righini (director of Muziekgebouw Eindhoven) and Andreas Fleischmann (director of the Metropole Orkest), in the presence of Jeroen Dijsselbloem, mayor of Eindhoven: “The Metropole Orkest joining forces with Muziekgebouw Eindhoven is fantastic news. The Metropole is a world-class orchestra. We share the ambition to connect people through culture and to connect culture with technology. This collaboration is a wonderful step forward in scaling up the cultural offerings in our city.”

Eindhoven has rapidly developed into an innovative and cultural hotspot of international stature. In that context, the choice of the Metropole Orkest as orchestra-in-residence is no coincidence. The orchestra is renowned worldwide for its genre-defying programming and experimental strength in pop, jazz and world music—qualities that perfectly match a city known for its boldness, innovation and ability to connect.
