Muziekgebouw Eindhoven receives Green Key Gold certification

Green Key is an international sustainability certification for businesses in the leisure, meetings and hospitality sectors. To achieve Gold certification, organisations must meet all mandatory sustainability criteria as well as a substantial number of additional standards. Muziekgebouw Eindhoven meets 58 percent of these additional criteria, immediately qualifying for the highest certification level.

Concrete sustainability measures

In recent years, Muziekgebouw Eindhoven has implemented various measures to reduce the organisation’s environmental impact. Taps and showers have been fitted with water-saving devices, and only paper carrying a recognised sustainability certification is purchased, including recycled printing paper and certified toilet paper and paper towels.

Steps have also been taken in the areas of energy and cleaning. Almost all halogen stage lighting has been replaced with LED lighting, with the remaining fixtures set to be replaced in the coming years. In addition, all lighting throughout the building is LED, certified cleaning products are used, and the building runs on 100 percent European wind energy.
