George Philipp Telemann named Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach as his godson, maintaining a lively correspondence and a close bond with him. Father Johann Sebastian is also featured in the program of cantata fragments and sonatas, performed by soprano Dorothee Mields and recorder player Stefan Temmingh.

She: one of the most acclaimed voices in 17th and 18th-century repertoire, equally at home in large orchestral and operatic productions as in delicately nuanced song recitals. He: the visionary musician who revived interest in the recorder. German soprano Dorothee Mields and South African virtuoso Stefan Temmingh have been a successful duo for several years. From Italian baroque opera to Telemann cantatas and music inspired by melodious fauna (see the album Birds), the duo generously shares the most enticing repertoire highlights and stunning discoveries.
