The English artist Ags Connolly brings his traditional country music to Americana Mondays! Despite his origins, his music immediately transports you to the borderlands of Texas and Mexico, with a sound reminiscent of artists like The Hacienda Brothers and The Texas Tornadoes. At the same time, the musical heritage of country icons like Hank Williams and George Jones is clearly in good hands with Connolly. His album “Siempre” was released in 2023 and is packed with influences from country, Americana, and Tex-Mex. He has since followed it up with “Your Pal Slim: Songs Of James Hand,” an album that pays tribute to James ‘Slim’ Hand, Connolly’s great source of inspiration. Tonight, the multi-instrumentalist Bart de Win from Nuenen will accompany him on accordion.
