On January 16, 1998, “Moon Safari,” the debut album by AIR, was released, and it was immediately clear that Nicolas Godin and Jean-Benoît Dunckel had created something special. Inspired by film soundtracks, classical music, and disco, the French duo brought a subtle lounge sound to life, blending acoustic and electronic elements into a dreamy atmosphere. The impact was instant—before long, Moon Safari’s influence could be heard everywhere. With tracks like “Kelly Watch the Stars,” “All I Need,” and “Sexy Boy,” AIR became a global success. Now, more than 25 years later, “Moon Safari” remains as powerful as ever and is still regarded as one of the most influential electronic albums of all time. On Saturday, July 5, AIR will perform the legendary album in its entirety exclusively in Eindhoven at the Klokgebouw!
