Albori Duo was formed at the Maastricht Conservatory by flutist Ana Casero and guitarist Alice Hu. The duo explores the repertoire for flute and guitar with a refined, expressive approach in which classical and folk influences come together. With a rich palette of sound, they move between intimacy and clarity. Their focus lies on Spanish, Italian, and Latin American works, presented both in original repertoire and in their own arrangements, with an eye for a broad and diverse audience. This afternoon they present their program Echoes of Distant Streets, which seeks a connection between Italian lyricism and Argentine tango, featuring music by Pujol, Piazzolla, and Castelnuovo-Tedesco, ranging from vibrant to restrained and elegant.

A lunchtime concert is, of course, not complete without a delicious lunch. After the concert, enjoy a flavorful homemade soup and freshly baked bread in the Stadsfoyer. You can add this directly to your ticket!

Our lunchtime concerts are a delight to experience: both literally and figuratively! Taking a break in the middle of the day to relax for an hour with a nice concert in the Small Hall really makes the day feel refreshing. From piano recitals to chamber music and brass ensembles, the offerings are varied and innovative. Since we believe that emerging talent deserves a platform, our lunchtime concerts feature (recently graduated) students, competition winners, and other promising gems.
