Especially for BRIDGE Guitar Festival Eindhoven, Al Di Meola will come to Muziekgebouw Eindhoven for an exclusive concert with the Metropole Orkest. Since his international breakthrough in the 1970s with the jazz fusion group Return to Forever, led by Chick Corea, Di Meola has been regarded as one of the most influential guitarists of the past decades. In this concert, he presents a cross-section of his solo work, ranging from early compositions to more recent repertoire. On both electric and acoustic guitar, he showcases the development of his distinctive style, in which jazz, rock, fusion, and Latin elements converge. Following successful BRIDGE collaborations with Dweezil Zappa, Steve Vai, and Mark Lettieri, we are preparing for a unique evening in which Di Meola’s playing is enhanced by the rich orchestral sound of the Metropole Orkest under the direction of Vince Mendoza.
