Amsterdam Klezmer Band

The Amsterdam Klezmer Band began in 1996 as a collective of street musicians and, over the past thirty years, has grown into an internationally acclaimed ensemble. With its distinctive blend of klezmer, Balkan music, ska, jazz, gypsy influences, Eastern sounds and hip-hop, the group has created an infectious sound that defies categorisation. On their latest album, Diaspora, released earlier this year, the band returns to its acoustic roots while bringing a fresh perspective to its familiar sound. Their energetic live performances have taken them to stages around the world, from Lowlands and North Sea Jazz Festival to the Wiener Konzerthaus and the Hong Kong International Jazz Festival. Throughout it all, one principle has remained at the heart of their music: celebrating life with as many people as possible through the power of music.
