DAUW

DAUW invites you to slow down. Not through silence itself, but by directing your hearing toward how sound moves, breathes, and gradually fills the space.

Each session begins with a guided meditation led by Zen teacher Anne Peters. From this shared stillness, a musical journey slowly unfolds: subtle vibrations, breathing rhythms, and layered sound fields. Not a traditional concert, but an experience in which listening becomes the starting point.

The music is performed by percussionists Peter Prommel and Nozomi Hiwatashi. Prommel, one of the most experienced percussionists in the Netherlands, has built an international career as a soloist, orchestral musician, and educator, with a deep affinity for sound, resonance, and musical depth. Hiwatashi, prizewinner of the TROMP International Percussion Competition and active on international stages from Tokyo to Paris, brings a refined sensitivity to colour, detail, and sonic texture.

Together they create a landscape of singing bowls, marimba, vibraphone, gongs, and other resonant instruments. Music that does not impose itself, but unfolds; between stillness and movement, between focus and release.

Within the energy of the festival, DAUW offers a moment of calm. A place to recharge, retune, and experience the physical power of sound up close.
