Expo: Wall Stories

From initial sketch to a mural several meters high: the temporary exhibition ‘Wall Stories’ at M shows how the Eindhoven-based artist duo Studio Giftig has been telling stories on walls around the world for twenty years. From October 17 through November 14, 2026, Studio Giftig will present ‘Wall Stories’ at M. The exhibition brings together twenty years of work by Niels van Swaemen and Kaspar van Leek. You’ll discover how their murals come to life: from the initial idea and concept sketch to the final work on a building facade.

Over the course of twenty years, Studio Giftig has grown from a local artist duo into an internationally renowned name in the world of street art. Their monumental works can be seen both at home and abroad. The duo have twice won the ‘Best Mural in the World’ award, presented by Street Art Cities, the leading international platform for street art. They won one of these awards for ‘Echoes of Harmony’, the mural that can be admired on the façade of the Muziekgebouw Eindhoven.

‘Wall Stories’ offers a unique insight into the process behind the various murals, featuring original sketches, images of the creative process and stories that inspire Studio Giftig to develop ideas and translate them into monumental works in public spaces. Alongside a selection spanning twenty years of street art, the duo are exhibiting a series of new works on canvas and panel, created especially for the exhibition and on display here for the first time. This reveals how their recognisable visual language has evolved over the years and how it takes shape even outside the public realm. In their work, Studio Giftig combines realistic figures with alienating situations, unexpected perspectives and elements from the surroundings – a visual language that can now be found on walls all over the world.

Echoes of Harmony during GLOW

The mural on the façade of Muziekgebouw Eindhoven will be given an extra spotlight during the GLOW light art festival from 7 to 14 November. Light artist Ivo Schoofs and composer Bas Soetens are giving ‘Echoes of Harmony’ a new audio and visual dimension.
