Step into a world where dusty landscapes merge with the hypnotic sounds of desert blues and psychedelic cumbia. Where Middle Eastern funk blends with echoing guitar rock and the rhythm of Latin American beats. New Orleans-based Gitkin (also known as Brian J) is a Grammy-nominated artist and producer who earned his stripes working with greats like Cedric Burnside and as the mastermind behind the funk group Pimps Of Joytime. He now trades vocals for his guitar, creating a unique sound that draws millions of streams worldwide. Inspired by all the positive online reactions, Gitkin assembled a band in 2022 to play live. The trio, featuring Palestinian musician Simon Moushabeck (keyboards and percussion) and Cuban-American Washington Duke (drums), adds an extra dimension to the music on stage.
