From sweet ecstasy to dark frenzy: Ratas del Viejo Mundo explores love in all its dimensions. Four voices and a Renaissance lute scour every inch of the spectrum: from tenderness and desire to jealousy and passion. The madrigals of Willaert, De Rore, Lassus, De Wert, and Waelrant skim across high artistic peaks and deep emotional valleys. And they intertwine intimately with the instrumental toccatas, branles, and ricercares of Galileo and Da Milano. A concert like a diary, with the lute as its beating heart.
