The Pulsar Quartet, founded in 2024, is an energetic ensemble of four talented guitarists: Kelly Johannes, Bárbara Macedo, Matthijs van Delft, and Eva Victoria Schockmel. This lunch break concert gives you the chance to experience their musical energy. All four members study at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam under the guidance of Gabriel Bianco. The name “Pulsar” is inspired by the powerful and rhythmic energy of a pulsar, reflecting the energy they wish to share with their audience. The quartet began their musical journey with the piece Pulsar by Vincent Lindsey-Clark, a moment that reflects their collaboration as an ensemble. From exploring authentic sounds to winning prestigious awards, these four young musicians bring their passion for guitar music to the stage, both solo and in ensembles.

Lunchtime concerts
Our lunchtime concerts are a true delight—both literally and figuratively! Taking an hour in the middle of the day to unwind with a great concert in the Small Hall really refreshes the day. From piano recitals to chamber music and brass ensembles, the offerings are varied and innovative. Since we believe emerging talent deserves a stage, our lunchtime concerts feature (recently graduated) students, competition winners, and other budding talents.
