Today, Muziekgebouw Eindhoven transforms into a vibrant meeting place full of youth, creativity, and worldly stories. The Volksuniversiteit regio Eindhoven presents a varied program where you can take a musical Spanish lesson, paint poppies in a watercolor workshop, enjoy Portuguese storytelling accompanied by Japanese paper theater, and even participate in traditional Korean games. Whether you love language, art, stories, or games: between 1:00 PM and 5:00 PM, there is something for everyone to discover. An afternoon full of fun, creativity, and new experiences suitable for young and old. Come by and let yourself be surprised.

Program

13:30 – 14:00 Musical Spanish lesson: Cantando un cuento – singing a story
Spanish teacher María Esther will tell us about “el cuento” and then read a story aloud, after which we will sing it together. Because that is the best way to learn a language. Explanation in Dutch, lyrics in Spanish. Suitable for all ages.

14:30 – 15:00 Workshop: Painting poppies in watercolor
During the workshop, you will create an original postcard with poppies using just three colors. For everyone aged 10 and up who loves flowers and would like to get acquainted with watercolor painting. Watercolor teacher Anna Ponomareva will help you get started. Register for this workshop at the Volksuniversiteit information desk in the foyer, as places are limited.

15:30 – 16:00 Storytelling: Histórias contadas – Kamishibai in Portuguese
Kamishibai is an ancient Japanese form of paper theater where colorful images
in a wooden box tell the story just as well as the words. Portuguese teacher
Elsa Patrício de Barros tells universal stories in (European) Portuguese. You do not need
to master the language to enjoy it. For children and adults aged 8 to 80.

16:30 – 17:00 Korean games: Play along with Squid games
Squid games are traditional Korean children’s games, made famous by the
popular Netflix series. Our Korean teachers Jiyoung Lim and Kiwon Kim challenge you
to play along. Naturally, they play the harmless versions! For everyone aged 10 and up. Languages ​​of instruction: Dutch and English.
