Three exceptional prize winners of TROMP Percussion Eindhoven 2024 return to the stage for a one-night-only event entirely shaped by their own artistic vision. In this special self-curated evening, Miguel Traquina, SeongYeon Kong, and Yuan Xia each take over the stage for an immersive one-hour performance, revealing their unique musical worlds, influences, and experimental approaches to percussion.

Portuguese percussionist Miguel Traquina is known for his energetic stage presence, adventurous musicianship, and wide-ranging artistic interests, combining virtuosity with curiosity and creativity. South Korean performer SeongYeon Kong brings a refined musical sensitivity and expressive precision that have already made a strong impression on international audiences. Chinese percussionist Yuan Xia, winner of the First Prize, Audience Award, and Willem Vos Award at TROMP 2024, has been praised by the jury for performances filled with “sound, depth and sincerity,” as well as his elegant virtuosity and captivating musical storytelling.

Expect an evening that moves far beyond a traditional concert format: intimate solo moments, bold sonic experiments, personal artistic statements, and unexpected collaborations. The night concludes with an open jam session together with the vibrant community of the Open Your Mind Dance Battle, where performers and audience meet in a spontaneous celebration of rhythm, movement, and creative exchange.
