IN PAIRS is a project that brings cellist Jasmim Mandillo and guitarist Marta Fonseca together in a performance characterized by multiple dualities: two voices, two string instruments, and a pair of Asalatos. Covering Portuguese and Brazilian music, from classical to popular, from folk to samba. Together, Jasmim and Marta create an intimate concert with original arrangements, their own compositions, and classical music that bridges different eras and styles, between the concert hall and the ‘Roda de Samba,’ and between Villa-Lobos and Zeca Afonso. Marta and Jasmim are Portuguese artists currently living in Amsterdam and actively involved in various multidisciplinary projects as soloists and ensemble players.

Of course, a lunch break concert isn’t complete without a tasty lunch. That’s why after the concert you can enjoy a flavorful homemade soup and delicious fresh bread in the City Foyer. You can order this directly with your ticket. Will you stay a little longer too? Great!

Our lunchtime concerts are a delight to experience: both literally and figuratively! Taking a break in the middle of the day to relax for an hour with a nice concert in the Small Hall really makes the day feel refreshing. From piano recitals to chamber music and brass ensembles, the offerings are varied and innovative. Since we believe that emerging talent deserves a platform, our lunchtime concerts feature (recently graduated) students, competition winners, and other promising gems.
