More than a geographical journey, this program springs directly from the encounter between the Duo Mares musicians themselves—the Portuguese violinist Rodrigo Teófilo and the Lithuanian pianist Brigita Zavarskyte. The concert offers a reflection on the affinities, contrasts, and cultural bridges between Eastern and Western Europe, where Iberian sensibility and Baltic tradition meet in a musical dialogue. Through a curated selection of works reflecting this relationship, the duo weaves together lyrical expressiveness, folk modalism, dramatic passion, and quiet contemplation. This program celebrates chamber music as a space of convergence, where distinct heritage and artistic voices merge into a shared, universal language.

After the concert

Of course, a lunch break concert isn’t complete without a tasty lunch. That’s why after the concert you can enjoy a flavorful homemade soup and delicious fresh bread in the City Foyer. You can order this directly with your ticket. Will you stay a little longer too? Great!

Lunchtime concerts

Our lunchtime concerts are a delight to experience: both literally and figuratively! Taking a break in the middle of the day to relax for an hour with a nice concert in the Small Hall really makes the day feel refreshing. From piano recitals to chamber music and brass ensembles, the offerings are varied and innovative. Since we believe that emerging talent deserves a platform, our lunchtime concerts feature (recently graduated) students, competition winners, and other promising gems.
