A mix of neoclassical, pop, jazz, alternative music, and electronic production, that’s the music of Agnes Obel, through which she achieved international success. The Danish pianist and singer-songwriter is known for her restrained and melancholic chamber pop, delivered with her subtle Scandinavian sophistication. With her albums ‘Philharmonics’ and ‘Citizen of Glass,’ Obel grew into one of the most distinctive artists in contemporary alternative music. After a five-year break, she returned to the stage in 2025, and in September 2026, her highly anticipated fifth studio album ‘The Meaning of Flowers’ will be released. A personal album where music, poetry, philosophy, and her experience of motherhood come together. You can hear it live on September 28, 2027, in our Hertog Jan Hall!
