An evening full of passion and romance, with music that expresses love in all its forms. From fiery Argentine tangos to the deeply felt emotions of Clara and Robert Schumann and Johannes Brahms. The Storioni Trio opens with Clara Schumann’s Piano Trio in G minor, a work full of lyricism and intensity, in which her personal voice as a composer resonates. Her music, often overshadowed by that of her husband Robert, deserves a rightful place in the chamber music tradition.

Osvaldo Golijov’s Responso is a tribute to the Argentine tango and its mastery in capturing passion and melancholy. This short, poignant piece sets the stage for Piazzolla’s Le Grand Tango, where the accordion and cello bring to life the temperament and tension of the tango.

After the intermission, Robert Schumann’s Romanze will be heard, an intimate and dreamy work in which his love for Clara is reflected. The evening concludes with Brahms’ monumental Piano Quintet in F minor, Op. 34. This dramatic and powerful work, originally written as a string quartet and later reworked into a piano quintet, reflects the intensity of Brahms’ feelings for Clara Schumann – a love that remained unspoken but profoundly influenced his music.

A concert where love and music are inextricably linked, performed by top musicians in an atmospheric setting.
