The alternative rock band mor ve ötesi debuted in 1996 with their album “Şehir” and has since been a leading force in Turkish music. Their breakthrough came in 2004 with “Dünya Yalan Söylüyor,” a milestone album marking their transition into mainstream rock. The album stands out for its blend of alternative rock, grunge, and influences from Turkish folk, featuring powerful lyrics on social and political themes. They’ve also made an impression internationally: in 2008, they placed seventh in the Eurovision Song Contest, and they continue to draw full houses in countries like the Netherlands, Germany, England, and the United States. With their unique sound and charisma, mor ve ötesi remains one of the most notable names in the Turkish music scene.
