Let yourself be guided by chief conductor Duncan Ward during the open rehearsal of Philzuid. Renowned for being one of the most versatile conductors of his generation, he regularly collaborates with orchestras such as the Orchestre de Paris, Staatskapelle Dresden, and London Symphony Orchestra. In January 2020, he was appointed Artistic Director of the Mediterranean Youth Orchestra by the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, a role he held until 2023. This morning, you’ll get a behind-the-scenes look as the conductor takes you through the rehearsal process. Equipped with a headset, you’ll be able to clearly hear how he rehearses and what he says to the musicians. As it stands, Mahler’s Fourth Symphony is scheduled for this rehearsal.
