Costa Rican pianist, singer, and composer Sofi Paez brings her journey from San José to Berlin to life in her debut album “Silent Stories.” She became the first artist to sign with OPIA, the platform founded by renowned Icelandic composer Ólafur Arnalds. After studying at the conservatory, she began creating her own compositions, drawing inspiration primarily from nature. Her neoclassical pieces exude a subtle, delicate atmosphere—capturing the tranquility of a breathtaking landscape in musical form. Sofi experiments with piano, voice, and electronic elements, seamlessly transitioning between Spanish and English. Her album, shaped in part by personal grief and introspection, strikes a unique balance between vulnerability and strength, giving silent stories a voice.
